Welcome to the website of the Department of Computer, Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering of the International University of Greece (IHU).
The Department was established by Law 4610/2019 (Official Gazette of the Hellenic Republic 70/A΄/7-5-2019). It has incorporated the Department of Informatics Engineering of the former Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia (Serres).
After gaining admittance to the Department, students have the privilege of getting a broad training in the fields of Informatics Engineering, Computer Engineering and Telecommunications Engineering. This opens their horizons for their absorption from the local and international ICT industry. Possible jobs for graduates of our Department exist in both the public and private sectors, as the relevant technologies are now essential for the operation of any organization or enterprise of any size. Graduate candidates may find three post-graduate programs in the fields of Applied Informatics, Robotics, and Telecommunications and Networking, while new scientist may pursue their doctoral degree through research in our Department.
The Department has excellent teaching, laboratory and research infrastructure. It has been operating, since its foundation, in the University’s campus in Serres, an area of 250 acres at the southeast of the city of Serres, in new buildings and a beautiful surrounding.
The Department’s facilities are placed in an area of 3,000 sq.m. where the teaching and research activities, for both undergraduate and graduate curricula, are conveniently accommodated. The administrative services, 17 educational and research laboratories, 5 classrooms and amphitheatres, the Library and the Students’ Club are placed in the same campus.
Our Department, despite the short time since its establishment, has a high level of recognition in the academic world of the country and abroad due to the collaborations and research activities of its faculty and the profile of its graduates.
